My Final Reflections on ES2007S

Truth to be told, there is a part of me that is still in denial that the semester is coming to an end. I enjoyed every blogging sessions as it is a platform for me to freely express my views on assigned topics. Time flies quickly and soon enough, this is the last blog post for ES2007S professional communication- a module that I did not regret taking.

I am glad to have taken up this module as I have learnt many fundamental skills and gained exposure to effective communication. The most valuable skill that I have acquired is writing skills which allow me to craft out resume and reports in a professional way. In addition, soft skills like oral communication, have taught me the importance of communicating effectively.

In class, we went through a mock interview by being interviewed and interviewing others. It was an enriching experience as it helped me to understand the thoughts of an interviewer and interviewee. Thus, with these skills, I believe that I can become a more articulate communicator, at an interview as well as in my workplace.

The professional communication skills are important, especially so when I am able to transfer them for my employment in future too. (:

I agree that there were a number of skills taught in this module regarding communication, its proper use and presentation. Like you, I have learnt a great deal from this module as well.

As you have alluded to, all the skills that we have learnt can be applied to our working lives. Such relevance makes the ES2007S module a truly useful module indeed.

Different people will find the module useful in different ways. Of course i totally agree that this professional communication module had us skills that we can bring to our offices next time. Not only that, I think it is useful for our everday's life interaction. This was the selling point for this module and that is why it attracted us. Ain't it?

Hi Emily,

I have the same sentiments as you; this is truly a useful module. Like you, I am glad I learnt alot from this module :)

It is interesting to know that you enoyed the blog-writing so much! Personally, I am not one to blog so it gets a little "unsettling" whenever I do a blog. Somehow it did not feel very natural. Nevertheless, I believe that just like you, it was fun to put our thoughts into words, read others' posts and share a little of our opinions and experiences.

Indeed, this was a really enjoyable module. I do not regret taking it too. Also, it was great to know all of you guys! :)

Hi Emily (:

It is nice to know that you enjoyed the module. I have to agree with Chun Fong, i had problems expressing my thoughts on the blog. Haha. I love the fact that we get the opportunity to express our ideas for our classmates to read and review. However, having a structured guideline made it rather difficult for me to 'find inspiration'. Many times my disorganised thoughts were left in the draft sections waiting for the next time I would work on them. Almost all the time, I end up writing fresh blog entries. Maybe, unlike you, I have little talent in creative writing and freedom of expression. BUT it has been fun reading blog posts by other people sharing the same opinions, feeling the same emotions and the best part is learning something new from different blog entries. Truly enriching (:
